The College of Fisheries Projects at Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University (RLBCAU) are designed to drive advancements in sustainable aquaculture, fish breeding, water quality management, and rural livelihood enhancement. These projects focus on addressing key challenges in India’s fisheries sector, with impactful initiatives that include the development of sustainable fish farming techniques, improvements in fish nutrition, and community training for rural aquaculture practices. Additionally, the projects emphasize the conservation of indigenous fish species, efficient fish feed formulation, and the adoption of innovative technologies to boost productivity in aquaculture systems. Through dedicated training workshops and field programs, the projects equip local fish farmers with best practices, enhancing their skills and supporting sustainable livelihoods. The college also collaborates with government agencies and NGOs to ensure knowledge transfer and widespread adoption of modern aquaculture practices. In addition, data-driven approaches and monitoring systems are utilized to assess and improve project impact. Collectively, these projects contribute to a robust fisheries sector, fostering economic growth, community involvement, and environmental stewardship, while strengthening food security in India.
